Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you're new to Roswell Soccer Club or have been around awhile, you may have questions about communications, uniforms, how games work, etc.

We answer several questions below. If you have other questions, please send them to communications@roswellsoccerclub.com; we'll respond within 48 business hours.

1. Do parents stay for practices, games, and clinics?

Parents are welcome to stay for practices, games, and clinics. For practices and clinics, parents and other spectators must be outside of the field's fence; during games they can be on the field. No instructions from the sidelines are permitted, as it distracts from the coach's instructions.

2. Are there check ins and check outs at clinics and camps?

Yes, an RSC Staff member will check players in and out of camps and clinics.

3. Who sends information to parents/how does communication work?

  • Coaches communicate directly with parents and players and should disseminate information from the club when asked. Coaches should be the point of contact for parents for on-field issues regarding their son/daughter.
  • Team managers communicate directly with parents regarding the administration of the team and do not handle on-field player issues. Team managers pass along information from the club to the parents and players.
  • The Director of Coaching (DOC) is a main point of contact for the club. They handle multiple areas of communication related to club events and club updates, etc.
  • The Club/Board of Directors communicates club happenings, sponsorships, events, etc.

4. How do you share information with parents and players?

PlayMetrics is our main communication tool for Junior Academy, Academy, and Select teams; you’ll receive emails and notifications from PlayMetrics. We use email to communicate to recreational teams.

5. What team levels have team managers?

All 9U-19U Academy/Select Teams have team managers. Academy teams’ 9-12U typically have multiple managers as they are large groups.

6. What gear do parents need to buy?

Players must have cleats and shin guards; support our sponsors Academy Sports & Outdoors and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Parents are also required to purchase the club uniform, or kit, which changes every two years. The current kit will be used through Spring 2025. New kits will be available in Fall of 2025; those kits will be used through Spring 2027.

7. When will we have schedules?

Practice schedules will be published at least two weeks before practices begin; we need time to schedule our competitive and recreational teams plus our adult teams.

The leagues in which we play determine the match schedules. When the leagues publish schedules, we assign times and fields. This is usually at least two weeks before games start.

Tournament schedules are known on a team-by-team basis. We are striving to identify all the tournaments for the next season for each team 3-4 months before the season begins.

8. What's expected of players and parents?

Players are expected to attend and actively participate in practices and matches. Parents should:

  • Get their players to practices and games on time, with everything necessary to play (cleats, shin guards, water, sunscreen, uniform, etc.)
  • Let the coaches coach
  • Create an environment of positivity and encouragement toward our teams
  • Respect our opponents and the referees
  • Mark attendance to all practices/games/tournaments in PlayMetrics.

9. How do uniforms work?

For U9 and up, the team manager or uniform coordinator will put your contact information in the ordering system. Then, you’ll receive an email from Lloyd’s Soccer with a link to order socks, shorts, and jerseys. World Cup, Jr. Academy, and Recreational Soccer players will receive uniforms from coaches before games begin.
